My fitness journey started the summer/fall of my sophomore year. I had broken my left ankle/leg in 3 different spots, which confined me to a wheelchair, crutches, and a walking boot for the better part of 6 months. At that point I had fallen behind my peers in football and basketball, not to mention my fitness level was not so hot, so I decided to pick up competitive swimming in high school. After swimming and lifting my way back to being in shape, I realized how much I liked working out with my friends. This ignited my interest in Exercise Physiology/Science and the personal training/group fitness/weight loss/nutrition field.
My vision has always been to help others reach their fitness goals by any means necessary, within reason. After stepping away from the training field for a couple years, I realized how much I missed teaching healthy lifestyle choices and leading people through exercises that will help make any goal reachable. Now I am back and excited to help anyone and everyone reach their goals, no matter how big or how small.
My professional career started at Gustavus Adolphus College, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Exercise Physiology and Health Fitness and competed as a Division 3 Swimming athlete. I started my post-college career at Life Time Fitness, doing personal training and group classes. After LifeTime I moved over to Discover Strength where I earned my ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist certification. Then I took my professional training break, focusing on refining my skills through personal exercise and creating my own routines for myself.
