
Three years before opening, SOTA Founder Phil Schrupp was struck by a drunk driver, fracturing his thoracic spine.
Just one year later, he was struck by yet another drunk driver, tearing several shoulder ligaments and leaving him with chronic pain throughout his entire upper body.
After countless physical therapy appointments with no improvement in his constant back and shoulder pain, he was eventually told he would have to learn to manage life without resolution.
Shortly after, he was introduced to evidence-based strength training, and after a few weeks, his aches and pains began to resolve, finally allowing him to live life on his own terms again.
He founded SOTA in 2017 and has since recruited a rockstar team of coaches to motivate, support, and lead our community to stronger, healthier, and more confident lives.
Phil is a dedicated husband and father of two young daughters. He has shaped the SOTA Personal Training system and processes to help other busy parents, executives, and everyday heroes take back control of their own lives and live a more active lifestyle.
