BACKGROUND

I have always been involved in sports and keeping physically active.  I began learning more about health and fitness when I turned 14 when my mom, who is also a personal trainer, started taking me to the gym with her. I would follow her around like a puppy dog doing everything she did.  We would make working out a little competition to further push each other to lift heavier weights and squeak out those last few reps. This resulted in a love for going to the gym and fully immersing myself in all aspects of health and fitness, from my lifestyle to my formal education. Health and fitness has molded my mindset to have the ability to accomplish anything I set my mind to. This outlook is another reason for the development of my passion for fitness.

VISION

Aside from the knowledge I have gained through my own extracurricular research, I am a certified personal trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine. Additionally, I am a senior at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities and will graduate with a bachelor’s of science in Kinesiology in May, with future plans of attending medical school. In addition to working as a personal trainer, I also work as a medical scribe in the emergency department and I am a human physiology lab teaching assistant at the U of M. With my interest and involvement in science, I apply scientific concepts to my training style and philosophy for ultimate optimization.

EXPERIENCE

My goal as a personal trainer is to use my knowledge to help people successfully achieve and sustain their fitness, weight loss or overall health and wellness goals. My philosophy is to accomplish this through teaching and coaching my clients on the necessary skills to be successful. Health and fitness should be looked at holistically as the body and mind work in tandem; therefore, having a strong and clear mindset will lead to goal achievement pertaining to fitness and in other aspects of life.
